Monthly CPI rise of 0.39% in November comparatively low

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in November surged 0.39 per cent over last month, stopping its slowdown trend gained over the past three months, according to the General Statistics Office.

However, the office said that this month's CPI increase was insignificant against that of October's rise of 0.36 per cent.

The surge was also low compared to the same period of the past few years, the CPI rise in November 2009 and 2010 having been 0.55 per cent and 1.86 per cent, respectively, the office noted.

With November's increase, this month's CPI rose 17.5 per cent against December last year, and surged by 19.83 per cent as compared with the same period last year.
